Why choose our podiatry office?

Our team of compassionate and experienced care professionals is trained to address common foot problems as well as unique conditions and general pain. When possible, we present conservative, innovative treatment options to keep our patients on their feet. Some of these advanced treatments include advanced laser therapy and customized, physician-made orthotics.

Common foot problems we treat

Our mission is to provide ethical, innovative care to the entire family. With this mission in mind, our foot pain center works quickly to treat a variety of podiatric issues among all age groups. We encourage families who visit AFD to schedule their healthy foot check-ups at the same time as their children’s and/or parents’ appointments.

Arthritis

Did you know that arthritis is one of the most common foot conditions across age groups? Arthritis impacts people of all ages, limiting activity, movement, and quality of life. Since there are 33 joints in the foot, there are many opportunities for inflammation ankle and foot pain, especially considering they bear the weight of the rest of the body! Swelling and pain in this area are common challenges that bring patients in.

Heel pain

Heel pain is another common occurrence that brings patients in for a visit. Heel pain can be caused by heel spurs, tendonitis, and plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis, which is the most common source of heel pain, can occur in all age groups and usually presents as pain that occurs in the arch and heel of the foot as a result of the painful stretching of the band of tissue that connects the heel and the toes.

Ingrown toenails

Ingrown toenails can be painful and severe enough to warrant a visit to our podiatric clinic. Ingrown nails that are red and swollen are an indication that you may need to make an appointment, as infection and paronychia can develop if left untreated.

Fungal infections

Fungal infections can also require treatment in our medical clinic. Once pain is present, the toenail fungus infection is well underway and can take months to treat. Accompanying bacteria can exacerbate the issue and should be treated in tandem. If you notice discoloration in the nailbed or any odor or pain, then you should make an appointment with our foot doctor.
